October 2006
Ahh, New York, NY!!! Yep, here I am a new NY resident and lover of the Big Apple. After almost a 3 month transition I have settled down here and I'm working at Ryko Music Group in Manhattan and playing with SpoilSport in both Boston and NY (past shows in May, June, August and September with more on the way). It's been a great journey and I'm ecstatic to be here! It really feels like I was meant to be here and I enjoy the craziness, the city's buildings, Central Park and discovering new stuff everyday.
I'm now on the SpoilSport website with the rest of the band: Craig, Jon and Marla, so check out the site www.spoilsport.net (and meet the band if you haven't already) since that's where the most current shows and info will be posted. Of course I'll still be updating petoagogo.com with some band info and my other stuff too.
September 2006
June 23rd I played with SpoilSport at Otto's Shrunken Head in the East Village of NY and we rocked the house! (see photos on the Photos page). The full house included people dancing and cheering and having a really great time. And despite the threat of Craig's voice being a bit hoarse from being out a little too late the night before, he pulled through (what a rockstar!) and we played in full force and had an incredibly awesome time. And just when I thought I was heading back to Portland, a group effort of fundraising and a haircutting party that lasted until 1:30am helped us raise enough money for me to change my flight in order to play the following Wednesday with the band in Boston at PA's Lounge. It's sure fun being in a band again!
My May trip had us checking out the Go-Go's at the Nokia Theater in Times Square for the 25th Anniversary of their first album "Beauty And The Beat"... the concert was beyond awesome and they were genuinely friendly to the few of us that attended a special Nokia pre-concert show. The whole night was a tidal wave of fun and capped off two great days that I spent in the Big Apple before heading up to Boston on the next day. That weekend, SpoilSport and I finally got to play as a band in the same room with each other since we first collaborated with a long-distance recording last year. Yay!
Spring 2006
NEW SONGS from PETO-A-GO-GO are on the Music page! "Open Mind" is the first new all-Peto-A-Go-Go track of 2006 with more to come by summer. Soon to come: the punky-pop of "I Hate My Life (But I'm Glad That I'm Not You)".
Valentino's Day in February brought the release of the Screeching Felines/Peto-A-Go-Go collaboration "Happy F*ckin' V-Day"! This rowdy and rude, sass-factor-10, punky-pop gem is a surefire way to get yourself laughing and jumping around the room saying "screw you!" to anyone with whom you might not be seeing eye to eye on the dreaded lover's holiday of guilt, manipulation and unrelenting expectation! The first Screeching Felines collaboration "Cul de Sac (The Zombie Song)" from January's Friday the 13th release is still posted, as well.
Also in January, I spent a long weekend in Seattle where I reunited with Maxi, friend and collaborator/co-producer of the "In My Place" CD. Had a great time watching him work in the studio and actually helped provide a little background vocals for a current project he was working on. Lots of laughs and good fun ensued.
The end of 2005 brought the new song "Fall On My Head" and the release of the promotional CD "Peto-A-Go-Go Unreleased 1990-2005" featuring 15 unreleased songs and remixes from the past 15 years. New liner notes and lyrics for the "Unreleased" collection are posted at the Lyrics page.
Last fall's fun-for-all collaboration with SpoilSport – "Frosted" – is still posted on the Music page, as well, our silly pics from our LA trip are posted on the Photo page.
